How it works

Real GitHub data, refreshed hourly, cached everywhere else.

The badge reads your repo's public star count from GitHub, and compares it against a snapshot from about a week ago to show the weekly delta. A repo with less than a week of history just shows the star count — no made-up trend.

Private repos and repos GitHub can't find still render a neutral badge instead of a broken image, so your README never shows an error icon.

Every badge links back to this page with the repo pre-filled, so anyone who clicks it lands on the same live preview and embed snippets.
