# GitHub star velocity badge

Free, no-signup embeddable badge showing a GitHub repo's star count and weekly
star velocity. Paste one line of Markdown into your README.

## How it works

The badge reads a repo's public star count from GitHub, and compares it
against a snapshot from about a week ago to show the weekly delta. A repo
with less than a week of history just shows the star count, with no made-up
trend. Private repos and repos GitHub can't find render a neutral badge
instead of a broken image.
